Our approach
All of our garments are consciously crafted by talented artisans in limited quantities; using sustainable and regenerated materials with the core focus of longevity in mind.
MATERIALS
We choose to use GOTS certified organic cotton, which is made of natural fibres and cultivated without the use of fertilisers and toxic pesticides. It is soft, breathable, biodegradable and better for your skin than regular cotton.
We choose to use linen, which is made of natural fibres cultivated from the flax plant. It is anti-bacterial, soft and durable, biodegradable, and becomes more supple with each passing day.
MAKERS
Our garments are consciously crafted in Mumbai, India. We support fair wages, no child labor, workers rights, gender equality & grower community. Through internationally recognised certifications & auditing framework we can ensure all our suppliers are in line with the values of the Beije. Our makers are GOTS and Sedex certified.
Our GOTS certification ensures the organic status of textiles from the harvesting of the raw materials through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing all the way to labelling. We use GOTS certified organic cotton.
Our Sedex Certification provides an online platform, tolls and services to help businesses operate responsibly and sustainably, protect workers and source ethically.
PACKAGING
We choose each material with intention and care, including our packaging.
All of our garments travel from our makers to BEIJE in comPOLY bags made from corn starch, which can be composted at home with your food scraps and garden waste.
Our size and care labels are made from 100% cotton, while our swing tags and cards are made from 15% cotton fibres and 20% recycled content. The mailer boxes are made from 80% recycled content and proudly manufactured in Australia. All of our packaging is 100% recyclable or compostable.
